I hate taking selfies but I chopped about 8 inches off my hair the same day as Crystal's Gem State Concert. We were so rushed getting home and off to Crystal's concert that Ty didn't even notice. Earlier in the afternoon it took Lily over an hour to notice so it wasn't just him. Haha. Crystal immediately asked me if I cut my hair when she saw me after the concert. I guess we know who the observant one is in the family!
Crystal was invited to play in the Gem State Honors Band this year. She spent 1.5 days learning music with other kids her age in the area, and they had a performance the final evening. It was fun to see how quickly they could pull off an awesome concert! Crystal was exhausted and said she didn't feel prepared, but they did a great job. It was just a long 2 days. I think usually they get the music ahead of time, and they didn't this year. I assured her next year would be better!
The girls had their first concert this week! Lily is in 6th grade, playing the clarinet (she has since switched to percussion and is loving it). And Crystal is in 8th grade, playing the trumpet.
Crystal and Lily went to a school dance this week! It was a glow in the dark dance which included face paints and blacklights! I think it's safe to say they had a good time!
