Memorial Day Weekend

INDIAN CREEK
So the first thing my kids said when we pulled up to our camp site Memorial Day weekend was "Mom! Can we go climb that mountain?" I think to myself, they'll get up to it realize it's way too steep to climb and change their minds. So I say, "Yeah, sure. Go for it." Look up 5 minutes later and they are halfway up the hill! I was a little surprised. Haha. There was a dry water trail down the middle of the hill. They would climb to the little cave in the center of the hill and then slide down the drainage path like a slide. The older kids ventured a little farther a few times. But probably never more than three quarters the way up. I was still impressed. Haha. Ty went up with Jay (I didn't let him go the first time) and then had to go again the next day because Crystal left her hat and supposedly ran into a snake when she went back for it. Haha. We never saw the snake ... or the badger they supposedly saw before that.
We also painted rocks, Grandma had them try the new pop rock Oreos, rode/drove the Razor, and the girls performed for us since Grandma and Grandpa missed their recital! We also had lots of yummy camping food including cresent rolls over the fire and smores, and we played a lot of fun games!
Oh and also it was like 20 degrees at night and our tent heater couldn't keep up with it. We brought plenty of blankets and would have been fine but Jay kept kicking out of his sleeping bag and blankets so Ty had to get up to put him back in like 6 times. And I had to go out with a kid who needed to pee at 2 am (lets face it, I was grateful because I needed to go too but was putting it off cuz it was COLD. haha). Needless to say we slept in Grandma's trailer the next night. It was actually not as cold as the night before but we didn't want to risk another horrible night. Haha.

Pop Rock Oreos. Haha.

The kids standing way too close to the edge of the cliff. Jay was the worst of them all. I had a mini panic attack and began to question my decision to let them go up alone. If they had fallen they would have definitely been severely injured ... if not killed. Oy Vey! What was I thinking?

Zoo Field Trip, Soccer, Mother's Day

Zoo Field Trip
We had our field trip to the Zoo this week! It's always one of the kids favorite field trips! We had so much fun! Looking forward to a summer full of trips to the zoo!

SOCCER
Crystal has decided she LOVES being goalie... I don't know how I feel about this ... it stresses me out!!! Haha!

MOTHER'S DAY GIFT
We saw a swing set/playhouse on super sale at Sam's Club the week before Mother's Day. The kids were begging for it of course. I told Ty I'd love to get it for Mother's Day ... I mean think about it. Something to keep the kids out of my hair all summer long!!! So we made a deal with them. Half of it was my Mother's Day gift and the other half they would work off by doing EXTRA chores until it was paid off. It's actually been a month as I type this and they are still going strong with minimal complaints. They only get paid 50 cents a chore so I think I have a dishwasher and counter cleaner - 2 of the chores I hate to do most - for the next little while! So basically for Mother's Day they get to do my most hated chores, and I have a toy to entertain them all summer long. Not bad if I do say so myself. ;-)
It took Ty and I 10 hours to put it together. It actually wasn't too bad ... and went way more smoothly than if we had made something ourselves (which was our original plan for this summer). Although I'm pretty certain the kids were as entertained by the box as they will be by the actual toy! Haha! They made their own fort because we were taking too long with the toy. lol.

Flowers, the Zoo, and Soccer

FLOWERS
My sweet niece (and my Sister in Law) brought me flowers for teacher appreciation week. I absolutely love them... the flowers and my niece ;-).

ZOO
We made a quick stop at the zoo to update our membership before our field trip next week! We got to see the baby lion cub! So much fun!

THE CAR SEAT
My son's car seat is regularly completely full of rocks, sticks, and feathers. Oy!

SOCCER PARENTS
It's hard to tell but it was like 30 degrees in this picture. We saw rain, hail, sleet and even some snow in the hour we sat there for Crystal's soccer game! That's dedication right there... right? Haha. Grandma and Papa watched from the truck with the other 2 kids... I still haven't decided who had it better us or them. Lol.

Dance, Sprinkler, and a Weekend in Twin

Dance
They are adorable. Just saying... They performed both their dances for people at a rehabilitation center last week and did fantastic!

They are the two in the back right.

SPRINKLER FUN
If finally reached 70 degrees last week! The kids insisted they were going to die of heat if they didn't run through the sprinkler! Haha. They had to put swimming suits on and everything!

NEWBORN AND A DEACON
After Crystal's game on Saturday we drove to Twin Falls for a very special day! Sunday my newborn nephew was blessed and my 12 yr old nephew was ordained a Deacon! It was such a wonderful day! And it was so nice to spend a short weekend with family! I wish I had taken more pictures of all the cousins playing!

Jay needed a picture too.
