INDIAN CREEK
So the first thing my kids said when we pulled up to our camp site Memorial Day weekend was "Mom! Can we go climb that mountain?" I think to myself, they'll get up to it realize it's way too steep to climb and change their minds. So I say, "Yeah, sure. Go for it." Look up 5 minutes later and they are halfway up the hill! I was a little surprised. Haha. There was a dry water trail down the middle of the hill. They would climb to the little cave in the center of the hill and then slide down the drainage path like a slide. The older kids ventured a little farther a few times. But probably never more than three quarters the way up. I was still impressed. Haha. Ty went up with Jay (I didn't let him go the first time) and then had to go again the next day because Crystal left her hat and supposedly ran into a snake when she went back for it. Haha. We never saw the snake ... or the badger they supposedly saw before that.
We also painted rocks, Grandma had them try the new pop rock Oreos, rode/drove the Razor, and the girls performed for us since Grandma and Grandpa missed their recital! We also had lots of yummy camping food including cresent rolls over the fire and smores, and we played a lot of fun games!
Oh and also it was like 20 degrees at night and our tent heater couldn't keep up with it. We brought plenty of blankets and would have been fine but Jay kept kicking out of his sleeping bag and blankets so Ty had to get up to put him back in like 6 times. And I had to go out with a kid who needed to pee at 2 am (lets face it, I was grateful because I needed to go too but was putting it off cuz it was COLD. haha). Needless to say we slept in Grandma's trailer the next night. It was actually not as cold as the night before but we didn't want to risk another horrible night. Haha.
