Loving the Summer Fun!

Pioneer Day was really just like any other day for us. Ty still had to work, so it didn't really feel like a holiday. But we did manage to have some fun! We got up bright and early and went Seven Peaks with some friends when they opened at 9:30.  It was cloudy too, so it didn't get too crowded until later in the day. I managed to get a few pictures in the wave pool before getting in the water myself.
Crystal playing in the waves.

Jackson, Lily, and Ty are standing farther away, and Crystal is sitting in the water facing away from me.

Lily, Ty (who is blocking Jackson completely in this picture. lol) and Crystal

J was trying to reach his toys. It was too funny. He would stiffen up with a weird look on his face and his arms reached straight out in front of him. At first I thought he was having a seizure or something. lol. But then I realized he was just trying to reach the toys. lol. He wasn't even close, so I turned the tray a little to make them more accessible for him.

Lily is COVERED in chalk.

Crystal is not as bad, but she still has plenty of chalk on her too.

She and Lily have decided its fun to make 'chalk dust' with their chalk. They just rub the chalk back and forth on the concrete until the entire thing is nothing but powder. Its very messy (you should see what it does to my carpet when they come in and walk across it)!

Tummy Time! We are terrible at having tummy time. He doesn't usually like it and when he does its only for a few minutes. On this particular day he was actually lifting his head off the ground pretty well!

1 AM. This kid decided he wanted to get up and play with Daddy. (He usually sleeps really well, but his gums have been swollen so we think he is teething ... or at least trying too. At least he's happy and not screaming!)

Mommy and Baby Night! Daddy took the girls camping with him so we had a night to ourselves! (Too bad he was teething and not very happy the entire afternoon/evening.)

Lily loves camping ... especially the part involving the dirt!

Crystal and her new friend!

J has taken a sudden interest in the jumper. The first couple of times I put him in it he wasn't thrilled. He liked it ok, but only for a few minute and then he'd want out. A few days ago he started jumping and playing in it. It entertains him for about 20 minutes at a time! And for him that's a lot. lol.

When he got bored in the jumper, I pulled out his mat. He is getting pretty good at hitting the hanging toys! (I tried tummy time on the mat and it didn't go well AT ALL... he may never roll. Oh well.)

My rose bush my mom and dad got me for Mother's Day is thriving suddenly! There are only 4 flowers right now, but there are suddenly a TON of buds on it! Can't wait till they bloom!!!

Jacob's 4 month stats

Jacob is 4 months old today! I can't believe its already been 4 months! I need a time machine!  The doctor says has a bit of a flat head and since its a little to the side instead of directly in back there's a tiny bit of concern. But the doctor wants us to try encouraging him to lay on the not-so-flat side for a while to see if we can't correct it without a helmet. Other than that he's looking great! He was impressed with how long he sleeps at night (which he said is probably the cause of the flat head - lol). J usually sleeps around 9-10 hours at night. I keep waiting for him to rebel and stop sleeping, but other than the occasional bad night here and there, he consistently sleeps through the night.
During the day he's pretty spoiled and wants to be held and played with nonstop! He usually cries the entire time I'm cooking dinner or trying to get some cleaning done. And let me tell ya, this kid is tough to entertain. lol. He's only happy with one thing for a few minutes before he's ready to move on! lol. He'll be ok just being held for a minute, then he wants to stand, then he wants to face out, then in, then sit. lol. I'll put him in the bouncer with the toys hanging over it and he'll be happy for about 5 minutes, then I'll put him in his jumper which he loves ... for about 5 minutes. lol. Then I'll put him in his crib so he can watch his mobile and he loves it ... for about 5 minutes. Then I'll sit him in his bumbo-type chair with toys around it and he'll play with them for ... you guessed it ... 5 minutes. Then I'll put him in his swing. Sometimes the swing will entertain him for a good 20 minutes (longer if he falls asleep in it ;-)). Needless to say, I haven't been getting a lot done around the house lately. But he's growing so fast! They are all growing too fast! The house can wait!
J was trying to put his binky in his mouth, but instead he was poking himself in the eye! lol!

He finally found his mouth after a few tries.

I love the look babies get when they first discover their hands!

He just wanted to sit and stare at it, turning it around slowly.

4 months old! Smiling even though he just got shots :(
(I had to put my arm there to keep his hands out of his mouth long enough for a picture. I wanted to see his sweet smile ;-))

Sleeping soundly in his swing!

4 month Stats:

Height: 25 1/2 inches, 75%

Weight: 17 pounds 3 ounces, 85%

Head: 41.5 cm, 50%

Doc says we are clear to start him on baby food! We'll see how that goes! :D The past few weeks he's started taking an interest in our food. We've felt kinda bad for eating in front of him. lol.

Everyday Life

These are just a ton of random pictures I have accumulated since January. I am including them on my blog, so when I print it at the end of the year, these will make it into the book. Enjoy!

When we pulled the baby stuff out in January, the girls thought they should try them out.

These are pictures from SeaWorld that I forgot to include in my Disneyland post. Lily was SO excited to meet Elmo! But then when our turn came she refused to get near him. lol. Crystal and my nephew Conner (he was more interested in Cookie Monster, lol) went right up to them and hugged them and gave them high fives. It was so funny to watch Lily because she WANTED to see Elmo but she was scared at the same time. She was trying so hard to be brave! I finally picked her up and took her over there. She made me hold her on the side farthest from Elmo and she enjoyed him from a distance. She did give him a high five before we left. By the end of the week, she didn't need me to stand between her and the characters anymore!

Grandma and Grandpa Cook sent a Valentine's Day package! We loved it! The girls thought the watches were great!

Lily couldn't find her Little Mermaid, so she put the skirt on the Prince instead. lol.

We also found Buzz like this one day! lol!

Making cookies with Lily is SO much fun... kinda... ok its hard, but she loves it so I do it anyway.

Showing me her floury hands!

She always ends up COVERED in flour. lol

Grandma and Grandpa Gordon sent a Valentine's day package too!

The girls loved their stuffed animals.

I made a "Daddy Survival Kit" for Ty for the hospital. He ended up not needing most of it since labor and delivery went VERY quickly and we went home the next day, but its the thought that counts right?

Sister Survival Kits for the girls. They loved them!

Both girls insisted on wearing their new swimsuits even though it was still too cold for water play. lol.

Dress up time!

She WANTED the headband over her eyes. lol. It was hilarious!

VERY pregnant and ready to be DONE!

Coloring.

Where will the groceries go?

Making cookies!

Someone has been watching Daddy play video games on the computer. lol.

Crystal wanted in on the action too.

Family Game Night! I love that they are getting to an age where we can play board games with them. though Lily needs help focusing still. lol.

Wrestling. Sisterly Love.

Yep. Lily usually wins. lo.

Finding his voice.

Its not just a 2 person stroller. It fits 3 comfortably. lol

Crystal asked me to draw a picture of the family and for me to draw her crying with a sad face. lol. And yes this is my best work. lol

She's FINALLY potty trained!

J sure is lucky to have 2 sisters who love him so much! (Lily loves him a little too much. She tried picking him up and bringing him to us when he was crying one day. She dropped him as I was running toward her to get him. He wasn't hurt thank goodness - just a little shook up! He landed feet first and Lily's pretty short so he didn't have very far to fall.)

J is loving his new chair! Sitting up is one of his favorite things to do!

My handsome boys!

Name sugar cookies!

Sleeping Soundly! He's so adorable!

Not looking forward to folding and putting away. I take one day off of laundry and somehow end up with a weeks worth to take care of!

It was 85 degrees outside and she INSISTED on wearing her winter coat!

Love Jacobs pouty face in this picture. lol.

She's in love with this boy!

My chunky Monkey!

Tummy Time!

My new haircut!

 Smiles!

What better way to clean up sidewalk chalk than to throw water balloons at it!

J is seeing and trying to play with toys! He's growing up too fast!

Cuddling with Mommy, but he should be in bed!!!

Lil' Brother!

Adorable little girls! They love each other so much! I hope they grow up to be best friends!

I was trying to capture the big smiles he gets when Daddy swings him, but I wasn't very successful.

She hasn't had to do this for a while, but we decided to try it when a lingering cough refused to go away. She thought she had to leave her mouth WIDE open the whole time. lol.

Lincoln and Jacob! These two were born 3 days apart!

Crystal, Lily, Addy, and Audrey! They had tons of fun playing together!

International Peace Gardens, SLC June 2013

Crystal made a crib out of blankets for 'her baby.' Lily actually fell asleep in it. lol.

Trying out a new hairdo. It turned out pretty well!

Crystal and her friend Jade!

Lily loves making faces at herself in the mirror. She cracks me up!

Love his smile!

He's a stud!

"Lily what are you doing?"
"I'm putting on my backpack."
We were heading out the door and she wanted to go out to eat with her 'backpack' on. lol.

Barrel O' Monkeys

He was super fussy. But he cuddled into Julia and suddenly everything was okay. It was adorable.

"Cutting" her food with a spoon and fork. lol.

I looked over at J and this is how he was sucking on his binky. lol

Riding their "horseys"

He loves his swing. I can get a lot done around the house before he gets bored of this!

"Mom, what is J doing?"
"He's trying to learn how to lift his head up."
"I want to lift my head up!"
And she promptly laid on her stomach and put her face in the floor. LOL!

Crystal came in the room and thought it looked like fun so she tried it too!!

Its more than a three seater! It totally holds 4 kids!!!!

Getting the luv sac up the stairs, out the door, and into the back of the truck THEN back again was not an easy task. It was very entertaining to watch though! LOL. And it was great for a night at the drive in!
He found his thumb....again! lol.

We may be in trouble!

Even with the binky he finds his thumb!

Double Thumbing it!
