Both girls started swimming lessons last week. Lily is a fish. This is her first year in swimming lessons, but she can already swim underwater using her legs. She doesn't float well or use her arms much yet, but she does pretty well considering. They put her in the 2nd year Preschool level. She is doing really well. She's even doing back floats now! Her only problem is that she spends less time listening to the teacher and more time jumping underwater and swimming around. lol. We need to work on her attention span skills I'm afraid.
Crystal is doing really well also. The end of last year they said she failed her class because she couldn't back float for more than 10 seconds. We've worked on it a lot the past year. She gets nervous that the water will go over her head so she holds her breath which makes it hard to back float for long. lol. She apparently passed their back float test because they put her in the 4th year class. She is learning to glide forward and backward, kick, and still working on floating. Her ability to swim is really improving!
Splash Pads
We went to 2 different splash pads this week. The first one was good old Provo Splash Pad. The kids never get tired of it! The second one was the Springville Splash Pad. We had never been there before. They loved the little river and Jay was braver than ever. He was stepping on the sprayers and getting sprayed in the face! He really loves the water!
Lily is standing on the fountain in the back of the picture. I know its far away. I couldn't get any closer because I was watching Jay.
We all went to 711 to get free slurpees today! Even Jay got one! He loved it!
BEAN MUSEUM AGAIN
The kids really never get tired of this place! I'm going to miss it when we leave!! One nice thing about being so close to BYU is the free museums!!!! :D
ARCHERY RANGE
We of course made a trip to the archery range this week. Jay likes to practice his 'drinking from a soda can' skills. No worries it was empty. haha.
WE ARE MOVING
Ty had an interview with Bank of Commerce for an IT job while we were in Idaho Falls over the 4th of July. Friday they called and offered him the job! We are SO excited to be able to move back into our house! I've been frantically packing ever since! We have to move out on Saturday, so I'm really feeling the time crunch here. Saturday I got the Living Room and Toy Room packed. Today I packed the girls room and bathroom. Next the storage room, our bedroom, and oh how I'm dreading the kitchen!!!! I just hope and pray that it all fits in the moving truck!
The kids are absolutely having a BLAST playing in all the boxes. Lily has gotten really upset a few times when she sees me packing things up. When Crystal excitedly told her we were moving away and leaving this house she started screaming and crying. I had to explain to her that we were taking everything with us and that there was nothing to worry about. Crystal helped her feel better by reminding her that we would be closer to Grandmas and Grandpas and cousins to play with! She didn't like it when I took Crystal's bed down today, but we assured her we'd put it back up after we moved. Jay just knows something strange is going on, so he's been a bit more clingy. But Crystal couldn't be more excited! Every time she says goodbye to someone now she says, "Goodbye, I'll never see you again!" Lol. It seems rude but the way she says it is with all the love, care and excitement in the world. Its pretty funny. We keep trying to tell her that she'll see them again, just not as often!
Someone gave this to me after my first miscarriage. It dried really well and I love it, but I just know it isn't going to make the trip. It would never survive. I decided a picture of it would have to do. I stuck it on my blog so when I make my book at the end of the year, it will make it in there.
We just took a walk around campus Saturday evening. The kids really liked the water and the art.
