The Iron Rod and Papa's Birthday

FAMILY NIGHT
The first Monday of each month we have family night with my parents. This month the lesson was on the iron rod and the tree of life. My mom tied donuts to a tree outside and ran a 'rod' from the deck to the tree. To walk forward the kids had to answer questions. About 3 questions in, it started to rain!!! My brother and I stood under the tree and laughed as Grandma continued on with her questions. Haha. I thought it was perfect. Sometimes holding to the rod isn't easy, and we may be doing all the right things and still feel like we are being rained on. But they pushed forward until they found the shelter of the tree where they grabbed their 'fruit' and headed for the house!! Lol!

PAPA'S BIRTHDAY
Well, Papa Gordon had a birthday and Grandma made him the best cake ever! Jay thought it was awesome and naturally wanted to play with it! Haha. He was pretty upset when we wouldn't let him use the tractor to dig into the cake. Lol. I love that we are close enough to our family that we can share these little moments together again!

SPRING!
The weather is warming up and Grandma Leslie is making sure the kids are ready for it! She keeps them dressed in adorable clothes! The kids love it when she stops by the house unannounced!!! Haha!
