Crystal loves being a big sister and will be ecstatic when we finally let Lily sleep in the same room with her! She really wants Lily to get up and play with her, but seems to understand that she can't yet. Every once and a while she'll try to shove a toy in Lily's face ... lol ... but then gives up when she doesn't respond to it. Pretty soon here Lily will at least be able to grab at them and interact a bit more.
Crystal is talking more and more; sometimes its understandable ... sometimes its not, but either way she seems to know exactly what she's saying (she'll repeat the same gibberish over and over again till we at least pretend to know what it is!).
We've been toying with the whole potty training idea, but Crystal has been rather stubborn about it. We let her run around without a diaper on all day one day last week and she did make it to the potty chair once (it took serious bribing ... lol). The next day we tried in the morning but put a diaper on her after her bath. Shortly after, she started peeing and grabbed her diaper, looked at me and said "mommy I pee pee in the potty!" Most people probably don't see that as progress considering she wasn't peeing in the potty but in her diaper. I was just excited that she noticed she was peeing. Unfortunately now every time she pees she takes her diaper off (can't have a wet diaper now can we). Last night Ty went in to make sure she had blankets on before we went to bed and found her sleeping without a diaper on and everything in her bed was soaked (except her nightgown amazingly enough ... lol)! She apparently took her diaper off before she fell asleep! We know she doesn't take it off if she has pants on so we'll just have to keep her in pajama pants and hopefully it won't happen again!
We got Ice Age as a 2 dollar movie at Walmart on Black Friday and she thinks its the best movie ever. She got all excited when she saw the baby. She looked at me "mommy, mommy, mommy! BABY! BABY!" When the baby cries in the movie she starts fake crying "Baby! Baby!" then says "oh it's okay, it's okay" The funniest part is when they are sliding down the ice in the cave. She gets SO excited and yells "BABY SLIDE BABY SLIDE MOMMY BABY SLIDE!" She just thinks thats the greatest thing ever! Unfortunately its all she wants to watch now. I think I watched Ice Age 100 times last week (k maybe not really but close). She walks into the living room, sees the TV and says "WATCH BABY? WATCH BABY?" Thank goodness we have a portable dvd player so she can watch it alone or I think I'd go nuts!
Sounds like fun at your house! And I don't think you're weird, I think it's awesome when Carrie yells, "poopy, biaper!" (which means she's peeing in her diaper). The little joys of motherhood! ;)
