Halloween Happenings!

PRESCHOOL PARTY
Our Halloween fun began with our Halloween Preschool Party on Thursday. Jay dressed as a pirate and Lily as Spider-girl! I squeezed into my blue sparkly prom dress from high school. The jacket that went with it was not quite mobile enough for me to teach preschool in, so I wore a white button up shirt over it instead. Not quite as 'fairy godmother-ish' as I wanted, but good enough! We played games and colored pumpkins and decorated bat sugar cookies... then we ate them of course!

BOO AT THE ZOO
Later that night we went to Boo at the Zoo. It had rained all day so I thought we were going to be miserable, but it actually turned out to be a pleasant evening! And it wasn't as crowded as other years! The kids had so much fun!

Everything was scaring her.

The red panda was awake!!!! This never happens! Haha.

Oscar Meyer Hot Dog Truck!

 LIBRARY TRICK OR TREAT
Friday morning we went to the library for a short story time and trick or treating throughout the library!

HALLOWEEN PARADE
That afternoon we went to Crystal's school to watch the Halloween Parade! Lily was a little upset she couldn't be IN the parade, but in the end she enjoyed seeing all the costumes! We went into Crystal's classroom after the parade. I wanted to get a picture of Crystal with her teacher. Lily and Jay decided they needed to be in it as well. lol.

After school we had to cross at the crosswalk in front of the school to get to the car. As we were walking across I noticed a very tall and scary looking skeleton standing at the other side. My first thought was, "Great, Crystal is going to make me walk clear around the block before she'll pass that guy on the narrow sidewalk!" But we got across the street and Crystal walked right up to him and he took her hand in his skeleton hand! Lily and Jay shook his skeleton hand as well! After we got passed him and out of the crowd, I decided to turn around and take a picture. He saw me and walked towards us. When he reached us, he just kept coming like he was going to step on us. lol. Crystal went running! It was pretty funny.
Just thought I'd snap a quick picture.

He sees me snapping a picture...

He starts coming after me for snapping pictures! lol!

TRICK OR TREATING AT THE BANK
We went to see Daddy at work right after school. The kids were spoiled by everyone there with more candy! And it was the good stuff! ;-) It's not even Halloween yet and their buckets are half full already! Haha!

HOCUS POCUS
Later that night we all cuddled on the couch with popcorn and introduced the kids to Hocus Pocus! I was worried they'd be too scared... and I think they were at first. Haha. Crystal and Lily slept in the same bed that night! But they've watched it 10 times since then so I think it was a hit! I'm glad the kids can join me in this yearly tradition now!

HALLOWEEN
We took the kids to our ward trunk or treat to start off our Halloween Day adventure (actually we had breakfast in Rexburg with friends to really start it off but I forgot to take pictures. lol)! My brother and sister in law brought their kids to the trunk or treat as well so they were able to walk around together! Love cousins!!! After that we decided to go trick or treating to a few houses ... just for experiences sake. Haha. The kids really love it ... though we need to work on their manners a little. lol. We then headed to Grandma Gordon's house for a Halloween Feast and a Scooby-Doo movie! We ended the night with one last trick or treat at Grandma Leslie's house (I can't believe I didn't get a picture! Gah!).
Ty and I were so exhausted, I genuinely think we were asleep before the kids that night. Haha. We got them in their beds and went to bed ourselves at like 9:30 ... which was bad since it was really 8:30 because of daylight savings time ending. Oy!

Papa the Pirate!

SUNDAY SHENANIGANS
Papa started wrestling with the kids Sunday night. Boy, I'm glad he had the energy to wear them out before bedtime. I sure didn't! Haha!
