Mr. Fix it! and other stuff...

CHRISTMAS MOVIES
Something we love to do during the Christmas season is watch all of our favorite Christmas movies! This week the kids watched The Santa Clause and Home Alone for the first time! They were both a huge hit! Next week parts 2 and 3! ;-)

MR. FIX IT
I love how handy Ty is. I can count on him to fix pretty much anything. The washer breaks... he fixes it. The dryer stops drying... he fixes it! The breaker on the furnace has issues... he fixes it. The stove won't start... he fixes it. But my friends, don't ask him to install a doggy door. He'll probably install it on the wrong end of the door and be forced to put the door on upside down. Resulting in a very high doorknob. . . at least it's just to the garage, so I don't have to look at it. lol. But seriously we have saved so much money because he's not afraid to get his hands dirty every once in a while!

The stove broke two weeks ago so we had to go with out it while waiting for parts (power bill is going to be fun this month. lol). Ty replaced the part as soon as it came, but the stove still wouldn't light. I spent hours on google while Ty cleaned ever nook and cranny in the entire stove... seriously, this stove is cleaner than its been since it was installed. I finally got to the end of the forum I was reading (we had done everything suggested), and the last post said, "Did you check to make sure the igniter is pushed out as far as it will go. Almost touching the burner pot?" Yup. Next time I'm reading the LAST post first when troubleshooting. Lol. Ty moved the igniter up and it lit without problems. Ty was so excited he insisted on turning all the lights out for the big debut. Lol. WE HAVE A STOVE AGAIN! YAY!

Now to buy a new breaker for the furnace. Oy. As it turns out his first furnace fix was temporary. At least it got us through the few weeks without the pellet stove!

And I wish I had a picture of the 'upside down door with doggy door installed', but I don't, and I don't want to go out in the cold to get one. Lol. Maybe another day.

GAME NIGHT
We played a fun game of Big Picture Apples To Apples with the girls! I was worried Lily might have a hard time with it, but she played as well as the rest of us! In fact I think it was one of the easier games we've played! Ty and I were able to just enjoy the game instead of playing for 2 people like we usually do! lol! We all had fun and of course Daddy won. He always wins...

PRESCHOOL
We had a field trip to the Baker's Dozen this week! I didn't get many pictures of just Lily or Jay (I try not to post pics of the other kids without permission), so I just have the one picture, but the kids really enjoyed it! And they even got a free donut at the end!
They also enjoyed our j is for jellybean art activity and baking cookies for our families! We totally messed up the cookie recipe. Haha. My bad. I was halving the recipe and forgot to half the flour so on the 7th cup of flour I couldn't figure out why the dough was so dry... hmmm... maybe because I put an extra cup and a half of flour in it! OOPS! I tried fixing it by adding more milk and a little bit more sugar. They turned out tasting okay... the kids thought they tasted fantastic though so I'm not gonna complain. lol.
