MY BIRTHDAY
I had a birthday shout hooray!! Lol. I had a pretty great birthday this year! Ty got me a camera with WiFi and sharing options, so I can have the perks of a cell phone but better quality pictures. It actually doesn't do everything it's supposed to (it promised automatic dropbox and picasa uploading but it doesn't work. boo. hoping one day they fix it), but I've found a way to make it work the way I want it to! I'm excited for better quality pictures!!! No more poor quality cell phone pictures!!!!!
EASTER BUNNY
The perks of having your birthday on Easter weekend! We got to dye Easter eggs as my afternoon birthday activity! I was too busy trying to save Jay's clothes from dye to take any pictures of it, so there's no proof that it happened but I promise that it did! Haha.
That night after birthday cake, we put out baskets but forgot to put our dyed eggs in it for the bunny to hide. We decided to start a new tradition that doesn't involve having to get up in the morning before the kids to hide real eggs. We took a bag of plastic eggs that were left on the couch when the kids went to bed and filled and hid those eggs. We left a note so they would know what had happened. Haha. Ty likes to hide their baskets too, so they had to find their baskets before they could look for eggs. lol.
My parents had brunch and Easter activities at their house that morning. We all had a blast! This year instead of a regular Easter egg hunt the kids got to dig in the sand for treasure and eggs! They filled their buckets with prizes!!! Then Grandma had a fun treat for them to make and eat! They made a twinkie car with a peep bunny. My nephews thought they were funny by putting the pink bunny under the car like it had just been run over... my brother's doing I'm sure. ;-)
We had an adult Easter egg hunt as well!!! Eggs filled with money!!!! My mom taped the eggs shut with packing tape so we couldn't cheat and only take the ones with 5's and 10's in them. lol. It took us forever to get them open! haha. My SIL Maddie got the winning egg!!!! A $50 bill! Her husband Tyler made up for it by getting all the $1 bills. lol. My older brother Jason and his wife got the most money in all! They had several $20 bills! Haha. Ty and I actually got the least amount of money but we still made over $60!! I'd say we all did pretty well!
We went from my parents' house to Ty's parents' house for another Easter egg hunt and a hot dog roast! I wasn't feeling super great so I only took 2 pictures! Fail!!! They all filled their baskets with more eggs!! I don't think I'll ever have to buy candy again. Oy!
EASTER SUNDAY
Grandma Cook took the girls Easter dress shopping over spring break last week! She bought them new dresses and new shoes! Crystal got her first pair of 'high heels!' She also got Jay a nice shirt to match the girls' dresses! They didn't overly cooperate with pictures, but it could have been worse. lol.
It was wonderful to spend the day learning and teaching the Easter story in church today. I love that we have this whole day set aside to remember Christ and that He lives! HE LIVES! And because He lives, we will live again as well! What a wonderful reminder!!!
We went to Grandma Gordon's for dinner Sunday night and Lily insisted on doing gymnastics. Haha. Aunt Maddie saved us with some leggings, but her dress still came to her shoulders every time she turned upside down. She finally tucked the front of her DRESS into her leggings. LOL. It was quite a sight!
