GRANDMA

It has been a month since Grandma's surgery. Her miracle surgery. A surgery we were told was never going to happen. But a blessing she received a year before, when her cancer journey began, promised that she would be healed, so we had faith that all the doctors were wrong. And they were. The chemo (devil stuff by the way) shrank it instead of just slowing it's growth like the doctors said. And a couple of months ago we heard the best news ever. Mom and I were headed in to one of my kids' end of year programs and she got a phone call from the nurse. She said one of the surgeons decided he thought he could remove it. After 5 weeks of radiation, she went in for a whipple surgery. It was come with it's own set of problems. But she is alive, healing, and most importantly, cancer free. She went from a 5% chance of making it a year (no chance of cure or remission or survival) to being cancer free. This picture is one month post surgery. Our first outing was of course to Walmart for food. Haha.
