LILY'S MOLE

We had to go to SLC again to have a mole in the corner of Lily's eye looked at by a specialist at Primary Children's. We wandered the hospital looking for the overhead walk so we wouldn't have to go out in the cold and found some fun things on our adventure. One of them was my kids' 2nd cousin Taylor hanging on the wall on one of the floors! The eye doctor thought the mole was probably nothing which is always a relief but he wanted to remove it anyway. Because it was SO close to her eye he just couldn't do it in the office. It wasn't safe. So we had to make a surgery appointment. The doctor only had 3 surgery days left in the year and was of course booked up. Lily's deductible was already met and she wiped out our health savings on her tonsils earlier in the year so I was a little frustrated we were going to have to wait but it was going to be okay. I was just glad it didn't look to bad and we were making a plan to get it removed.
The administration that does the scheduling came out to meet with us and she shockingly told us that someone had just cancelled on them and they could get us in in 2 days! It was the best news ever!

After the appointment we met with my parents who were in SLC as well and my parents matched any amount of money my kids wanted to donate to the churches Light the World campaign. We stood in line for these vending machine type kiosks and the kids each decided how much to spend and what to get. I don't remember what they all chose, but it was a good experience for them (Crystal actually wasn't with us so she did it with us over the phone. She had stayed behind with Grandma and Grandpa Cook ... seems like she had something else going on that weekend but I can't remember what it was). We were planning on staying the night with my old roommate Danielle but since we were coming back so soon we decided to head home instead. We stopped at a hibachi place for dinner on our way home. Jay 2 years later will still talk about this big gong at this restaurant. Haha.
