SURGERY DAY

We spent the night in SLC the night before Lily's surgery (Crystal was with us this time). My old roommate, Danielle came to the hotel with her family and we spent the evening playing in the pool and playing games in the hotel room. It was a good time!

We left Crystal with Jay in the hotel the next morning and took Lily to the Moran Center for her surgery. She was so brave! They had a hard time getting a vein but she was tough through all of it. She was just showing the good looking boy nurse and anesthesiologist how tough she could be. Haha. The surgery was seriously so quick. When we went out to the waiting room, I ran to the bathroom, came back out and hadn't even sat down yet when the doctor was walking out to talk to us. It was all out, everything went well, and he didn't think it was cancer at all, but they still sent it to the lab. It came back clear a few days later. She was fine. It really was a scary thing to think about. Especially with my mom being sick for the last year, I was relieved that everything came back normal.

We were back at the hotel before check out... but not before breakfast ended, so I took Lily back to the hotel to rest and Dad went to the McDonald's across the parking lot to get us all breakfast. After we at and Lily napped a little bit, we hit the road again. Despite all the smiles in the pictures, Lily didn't love the way she felt coming off the meds. Her eye wasn't even bandaged or stitched at the surgery site to prevent scarring. It really didn't bleed much but her eyes which are sensitive anyway were dry and even itchy at times. For the most part she handled it all really well and tried to smile at all the special treatment she got! Haha.
