SEPTEMBER: LABOR DAY, BIRTHDAYS, STATE FAIR AND MORE

HENRY'S LAKE
We went to Henry's Lake with Grandma and Grandpa Cook and some other family over Labor Day weekend. We went to see Cinderella at the Playmill in West Yellowstone and went early to get dinner first! It was tons of fun! Saturday we fished and went back into West Yellowstone to shop and get lunch. Back at camp we saw moose in the lake! We had dinner with Ty's parents and enjoyed a fire.

EASTERN IDAHO STATE FAIR

FALL HARVEST
I made a ton of strawberry sauce, strawberry jam, salsa, canned peaches, and freeze dried peaches. We found out my mom's cancer was back and she had gotten a box of peaches as well so I did all the prep work for her too. Canned some of her peaches and then sliced and froze a bunch so she could freeze dry them. I sliced and froze mine and after a month or so finally took them to her house to freeze dry them. Yum! I love harvest and hope one day we have a garden that will allow me to can and freeze dry/dehydrate even more!

GRANDMA GORDON'S BIRTHDAY
Grandma started her treatments and her immune system was immediately obliterated. Her birthday was coming up and I knew we wouldn't be able to get together so I bought yard balloons and we surprised her in her front yard. We even had her blow out candles and ate cupcakes in the yard with her on the front porch. We brought her dinner too. Baked potato bar - one of her favorites! We did have a problem beforehand because 2 of the balloons popped! I was crying, it was bad. Tyler saved the day with cardboard and scissors though. Thank goodness!

CRYSTAL IS A TEENAGER
Crystal turned 13! I can't believe I have a teenager! She is becoming such a sweet, kind, responsible young woman and I couldn't be more proud of her! She wanted to have a camping birthday party so we bought a propane firepit and set up the big tent. She wanted to watch a movie in the tent (kids and camping these days... haha). She settled on a slightly intense but also funny movie called Signs. One of my faves! They roasted hot dogs and marshmallows over the fire and then watched the movie in the dark of the tent! She was a nice sister and let her sister join her. Jay watched a less scary Goosebumps movie with me.
Grandma Gordon felt bad that she couldn't make it for her birthday because of her immune system, so she packed up the yard signs from her birthday and put them in our yard to surprise Crystal with. She played birthday music when Crystal came out! Haha. Crystal opened her present from the porch! Then cousins came over and we had dinner and cake and then Grandma and Grandpa Cook came over and we had cake again. Uncle Tyler had to go to work and we didn't want them to miss out so we just had it twice. Haha.
Monday we went out to eat for her birthday dinner. She of course chose Olive Garden. One of her fave places that Dad will only go to on her birthday. Haha.

POCATELLO TEMPLE OPEN HOUSE
We went to see the Pocatello Temple during the open house. Despite having to wear a mask I think we all enjoyed it. We found a small diner in Pocatello to have dinner at. It was good!

FALL SOCCER
Crystal had a game in Driggs which was an hour and a half away. They lost but played hard. We stopped at an aviator restaurant/bar for dinner on the way home. It was kind of neat!

FALL VOLLEYBALL - I didn't think I would have time to coach volleyball this fall with how busy work is as well as other kids sports. She got on a team with a great coach though and our neighbor across the street is on her team as well! It was a good season.

TY'S TRACTOR
Ty has been itching all summer to buy a tractor. Tractors aren't cheap. But he just kept looking. I told him he could get a tractor but he wasn't using our basement money to buy it, so he got a small loan from the credit union and we went to SLC and bought this tractor. I actually love watching how excited he gets about this tractor. He loves using it, helping neighbors with it, and talking about it. Seeing him happy makes me happy. And as soon as our basement is finished we can pay it off. Haha.
