KV PARTY
All the grandkids happened to sit at the table at the top of the room. It was fitting since they are Grandpa's prized possessions. Haha. I tried to get a picture of them all looking but it was hard. They were busy.
TRAIN
We managed to find time for our Christmas train tradition. They all did it at different times, but they all managed to do some decorating and get it done. The last day of school before break, Jay was the only one who's class wasn't doing pjs so he wanted to wear them to school anyway. I told him he had to wear regular clothes, but he could wear PJs the next 2 weeks if he wanted. Unfortunately he took it to heart and wore PJs for pretty much the entire 2 weeks, including a trip to the dentist. He also insisted on the reindeer pjs. Good thing he had his sisters' reindeer pjs too, so he was able to clean them a couple times thru the break. Haha.
Ty and I celebrated our 15th anniversary 2 days before Christmas! This year Ty actually suggested we do something fun, so he took me to Texas Roadhouse and then we went to see the new Spiderman movie. It was fun to go to the movies again. We haven't been in a long time! Then he took me to HAWAII... okay the Hawaii room at Destinations Inn.
(It was probably the safer option since flights were being cancelled left and right this Christmas season. Thousands of flights were cancelled from pilots calling in sick. My brother almost didn't make it home before Christmas from his cruise because their flight kept getting cancelled. As much as I enjoy celebrating our anniversary, I would hate to be stuck somewhere apart from my kids on Christmas day.)
Grandma did it again! She planned a wonderful Christmas Eve party with the kids following the life of Christ and learning all the names Christ was known as. It was such a good evening, and ended of course with the Nativity story where Crystal played her trumpet as an angel.
CHRISTMAS MORNING
Looks like Santa came last night! We were all quite spoiled this year. Aside from what Santa brought, the girls received snowboarding lessons thru the school's 5 week ski program from us. And we got Jay the VR he has been begging for for years. And as a family we all got a Get Out Pass that includes a trip to Lagoon and so many other activities closer to home. It's going to be a gift that gives all year long!
We spent a lot of time playing with new toys and braving the snowy roads to play with cousins. Artitorium, Reed's Dairy, Leo's Place, and more!
NEW YEARS EVE
Happy New Year! We had good food and played cards together while we watched Encanto and Dr Strange. We counted down the new year and toasted with sparkling cider. Funny story. I gave all the adults the red sparkling cider and the kids the white cider so if they spilled it wouldn't make a mess. While I was cleaning up, I bumped the red cider and splattered it all over the floor and Grandma in my attempt to catch it. It was not good. Oops.
