Preschool

I always had a plan to start teaching preschool when I quit work to stay at home with my children, but I was waiting until we were in a home where I could dedicate a space to it. With Crystal turning 3, I felt like now was the time to start, regardless of our lack of space. At first I was just going to do it with Crystal so I could build up my lesson plans for when I did have the space for more children. But my goal for Crystal was to help her develop healthy social skills and learn how to act in a classroom setting which wasn't going to happen by just teaching her alone. Ty's cousin and another friend of mine were talking about putting their daughters in preschool so I offered to teach them too.  Now I have a small preschool class of three adorable girls! Since September 6, three days a week my living room becomes a classroom for a few hours. Ty doesn't mind the permanent wall decor (calendar bulletin board, learning poster, rules poster...) though I'm sure most people walk in the door and wonder what its all about.

Here are a few pictures of my adorable girls and fun things we do at school:

Eating snack. Yes they think this is one of the best parts of school! lol!

Playing in the sensory bin full of beans!

 Sidewalk Chalk!

 Farm Country!

Crystal riding the pony! She LOVED it!

The other girls cheered her on (they chose to opt out of the pony ride)
They kept saying, "Go Crystal! It's not scary! You can do it!"
LOL. It was hilarious! I was glad they enjoyed watching the pony ride at least.

 In Jail

Our best attempt at getting them to pose for the camera

Girls getting ready for the carriage ride!
Of course Crystal had to blink just as I took the picture! LOL

 Sitting in the carriage!

 Practicing writing the letter b.

I was extremely proud that they somewhat resemble the actual letter b. lol.

Blue Bubble Art on the lowercase b.

Getting ready to put the paper on top of the blue bubbles!

Making sure she gets it in the right place!

 Showing off her work!

 More sensory bin!

We didn't have leaves outside to play in, so we played with some inside!

 The girls had a blast!

Getting ready to throw them again after "raking" them into a pile!

Dressed up for the Halloween Party!

Again... we couldn't get all 3 to look at the camera...

We gutted pumpkins! It was a great slimy sensory experience!

All three of them touching the pumpkin guts. None of them liked it much!

But they LOVED playing in the slippery seeds!

They helped wash the seeds and season them.
We put them in the oven on a cookie sheet all day and they each got a bag of pumpkin seeds! YUM!

Eating snack while watching a Halloween movie.
