The Neighborhood Goat and Jaker's Pumpkin Patch

First I want to share this cool picture that has nothing to do with anything. Its just cool. lol. Ty took this through the window at work. The storm was only DUMPING rain on one part of town. I kind of felt like I was in Idaho driving through town on this particular day. There was a distinct line where the sun was shining and it was still dry and where the rain was pounding on the concrete!

GOAT
The neighbors behind our complex now have a goat. Their backyard shares a fence with the toy area of our complex and the kids have been having the BEST time feeding and watching the goat through the holes in the fence. One day this week we decided to go visit the goat face to face. There were so many of us that we scared her at first. But when she eventually realized we weren't going to hurt her, she let us get close enough to feed her. All the kids had a blast!

JAKER'S

A really good friend of mine invited us to join them on their FRIDAY FIELDTRIPS. We have been having so much fun getting together for outings with other families in the neighborhood. This week we went to Jaker's. It's a pumpkin patch in Springville with a ton of fun activities for the kids. And best of all it's FREE! They have a small 'petting zoo,' 2 hay bale mazes, a hay bale mountain, a hay ride, slides made out of covert pipes, a corn box/pit, and even a small 'haunted' house (also made out of hay bales. lol). We spent several hours there, and the girls were still upset when it was time to go! We will probably be making another trip there sometime in the near future!

This pig was like a little puppy. It was loving all the attention. It would try to jump on Ty through the fence when he would stop petting it. lol. And it was a DIRTY little pig! lol!

This pig was MASSIVE!

Miniature donkey.

Baby cow with ... well ... we don't know what was in there with it. It was kind of like a llama but not quite. lol. Maybe an alpaca?

J was pretty fascinated by the animals.

Hay Maze

Looking for the way out...

Hay Bale Mountain

Daddy was the muscle in the group. He got up there and helped all the kids get to the top.

Queen of the mountain. She was so proud! And was LOVING it!

Crystal stood there long enough for a picture and got right back down. I think we have a little girl who's afraid of heights!

One of the girls' friends making one last trip to the top!!!

Time for the hay ride!

I was looking for Ty and the girls and found Lily standing above the door to the haunted house. It was SO high! Lily crouched like she was about to jump - she'd been jumping off hay bales all day, so she thought it would be okay! GAH! I was screaming for Ty (hoping he was up there too) while taking the picture. She got the idea and turned around to make her way back down. She had gone up the side of the hay bales to go down a slide and climbed around the orange fencing to climb higher. Ty was at the bottom waiting for her to come down the slide. It scared me to death. This little monkey makes me nervous!

A KANGAROO!

And the loyal and very friendly Great Dane, Mowgli.

Lily is nervous around dogs, but not this one. Which I found interesting because he was HUGE!

Jacob liked the kangaroo too!

THIS WAS AWESOME! Instead of a ball pit, its a corn pit! Or instead of a sandbox its a cornbox! No matter how you think of it, IT WAS AWESOME! :D

Jacob loves feeling things. He is very texture oriented. When I sat him in the corn, the first thing he did was start rubbing the ground underneath him- trying to figure out what it was.

He's working on that pincher grasp...

I was surprised he lasted 10 minutes in the corn before this happened. lol. He apparently had explored all other options, and it was now time to see what it felt like in his mouth!

I was finding corn in my jacket and even in my bed for days after this. lol.

Crystal was pretty nervous, but she wanted to try it.

So she sat down and slide off instead.

When she didn't die, she braved jumping from a standing position.

Then she went up higher and slid down.

I finally got a pic of her falling! (This is a very strange pic. The file shows up as 2 different pictures on my phone. In the small preview image she is still sitting on the ledge, but when I click on it she is falling. It also made a creepy discoloration around her. I told Ty its her 'shield' spreading out to cushion her fall because she was nervous and felt she needed more protection. lol)

Lily did it too!

Yes, J and I went down the slide...

twice!
