Random Pictures of the Week
Yes, J fell asleep like this in church on Sunday. It was too adorable not to get a picture!
J isn't handling food well so he's currently on a prune only diet, but we can't help but sneak him a french fry every now and then. He just loves them SO MUCH!
Posing for the camera.
Halloween Weekend
We went with a Wizard of Oz theme for Halloween this year. Crystal was Dorothy last year but she wanted to be Dorothy again this year. It is after all her favorite movie. After Halloween last year we hit the 75% off racks and found a lion costume for J. We weren't sure it would fit since it was a 0-6 mo and he was going to be 7 mo old, but it was only a few dollars so we went ahead and got it. We tried it on a week before Halloween and it BARELY fit. No really, it barely barely fit. lol. Since Crystal was going to be Dorothy and J, a lion, we thought Lily should be something from the Wizard of Oz also, so I made a Glinda the Good Witch costume for her. It turned out pretty good. I was proud of it! lol.
This year's pumpkins!
BEFORE TRICK OR TREATING
Glinda, Dorothy, and the lion!
Crystal even had a basket and Toto this year! Lily's bucket is a cauldron!
J posing like a lion for me ... or trying to get away but since he hasn't figured out how to crawl yet he just encouraged more picture taking. lol.
GRANDMA COOK'S SCHOOL CARNIVAL
Glinda, Dorothy, Lion, and the Wicked Witch (aka Grandma)!
Trying to figure out how to make the wand work.
Serious business.
AFTER TRUNK OR TREAT
We went trunk or treating with my mom, brother, sister in law, and nieces. They went as scooby doo characters!
Grandma gave Lily her birthday present a few weeks late!
We exhausted her!
Grandma and Papa Cook trying to teach J how to crawl.
Good friends!
Storytime
Ty found out a few weeks ago that I've never shot a gun. He told his dad, and they both seemed to think it was time I try it. I told them the reason I hadn't was because I didn't want to have bruises on my shoulder. Growing up, my brothers would come back from shooting with bruises on their shoulders where the gun rested. Well they promised me not ALL guns cause bruising, and we made plans to go.
Ty and his dad have also decided they want to take up bow hunting, and in the past few weeks they have both bought bows. Leslie decided we should join them and get a bow so we could target shoot with them. When we met to go shooting, Leslie had just bought herself a bow also, so instead of shooting guns we decided to go to a nearby archery range and shoot bows. As it turns out bows can cause bruises too.
Day One - The bow string hit the side of my elbow (I'm double jointed so when I straighten my arm my elbow gets in the way. I forgot to turn my arm... youchy!)
Day Three - Yep. I didn't want a bruise. So what happened? I ended up with a bruise, and I still have never shot a gun. lol
