Wedding Ring and more December Fun!

WEDDING RING
Well I lost my wedding ring and a birthstone ring after I got them all gooey making snow for Crystal's birthday in September. I took them off to clean them and set them aside on the kitchen counter so they wouldn't get dirty again. I think I must have left them wrapped in a paper towel I had used to dry them off. Then that night I cleaned up in the kitchen... throwing away all the stuff left on the counters from cake baking, frosting decorating, and party prepping. The next day I noticed my rings missing. We weren't home but I wasn't worried because I knew they were on the kitchen counter. I remembered exactly where I had put them. It wasn't until 3 days later that I went looking for them and found them missing. I searched everywhere I could think of. Even the garbage outside even though the garbage man had already taken the garbage that contained half the party garbage. They unfortunately weren't in the party garbage that went out after the garbage truck had come... I checked. Haha.
After a month of searching we finally made a claim with our jewelry insurance company. I felt pretty silly having to tell the insurance company that I thought I threw away my rings. Oy, But they approved the replacement and Ty and I went ring shopping...again... almost exactly 10 years later. Since it wasn't going to be exactly the same, Ty thought we should do something special with it. He suggested we add the kids birthstones to it. I love it! Crystal is sapphire, Lily pink, Jay aqua. The aqua is really light and hard to see but it's there.
Ty also surprised me by replacing my birthstone ring that my grandma bought me probably 15 years ago. We didn't have it insured, so I didn't think I'd be able to replace it.
I want to give a shout out to Jeweler's Mutual! They've replaced the diamond and now the entire ring in the past 10 years. Well worth the $25 a year we pay for it!

25 WAYS OVER 25 DAYS
We have still been going strong on our 25 days of service! Today is day 12 and we've only missed 1 day so far! I plan to catch up and do the day we missed sometime this week. We just didn't have time one night last week and haven't had extra time to do 2 yet. It WILL happen though! These pictures are from a day last week when we made Homeless Sock Kits to put in the car. Super easy. Warms pair of socks, bottle of water, granola bar, and we are going to put McDonald's gift cards in them as well (don't like doing cash).

CHRISTMAS TREE
I forgot to post a picture of the Christmas tree last week. We got it the Saturday after Thanksgiving and it's still going strong! It's by far the smallest tree we've had in the past 10 years but I actually love it. It really is the perfect size for our house. There's room to move around the living room this year! Haha! That part has been kinda nice!

CHRISTMAS PARTY
We had our Ward Christmas Party this weekend. The primary sang for us! We all had a good time and Jay got another homemade bear from I wonderful widow in our ward. He was so excited!

SHOPPING...OY
The girls needed clothes for family pictures while extended family is here for Christmas. The color was supposed to be yellow and neutral colors. Ty, Jay, and I all have black/gray sweaters already so I decided to just get the girls something in color so we wouldn't all be dark. Well mustard yellow is a hard color to come by in girls clothes this time of year apparently. I found the color in Jay's size, my size, and even Ty's size. But nothing in the girls section! Haha. Ty's mom came shopping with me and we decide gold would match the mustard yellow close enough. So these are the clothes they ended up with. Haha. Honestly I'm happier with the gold color anyway, so hopefully they all tie in okay.

CURLERS
While standing in the very very very long line at Ross to buy the girls' clothes, we found a package of long foamy curlers that someone had changed there mind about. So I decided to buy them (darn long lines.. haha). We put them in Saturday night and their hair was nice and curly for church on Sunday! In fact it was still nice and curly for school the next day as well!
