FAMILY IN TOWN CONTINUED
We had so much fun going to the property for the day with everyone. Ty couldn't come due to work but he left early and met us at Big Jud's for an early dinner. I really thought I took more pictures but I can't seem to find them. Grandma and Grandpa Cook also had "cousin camp" and the cousins all slept at their house and they had activities all day with them.
Ty and I went kayaking with Todd and Brooke while the cousins were having their day. We spent a lot of time pulling the kayaks since the river was so low. Haha. I mean Ty and Todd spent a lot of time pulling. The water was COLD! We went to Fuji's when we got home. Marissa and Brandon joined us for that. When we got home Todd and Brooke helped us set up an early bday present for Crystal. We bought her a huge soccer goal so she can practice all summer long. Her bday isn't till September but we wanted her to be able to use it! Then we played games and watched basketball for a while!
The next day when we finally went home it was dark outside. I sent Crystal out back to get something. Annoyed, she headed out back and after walking out into the yard could finally see what was out there. She was pretty excited!
4TH OF JULY
We walked in the parade. Ty would prefer to throw candy over catching it in the crowd. Haha. Jay was pretty grumpy at first but he got better as the day went on. We saw Grandma and Grandpa Cook with Todd and Brooke and cousins. And we saw Grandma and Grandpa Gordon and aunts, uncles, and cousins too!
We paid this year to put our trailer in a parking lot near the fireworks so we wouldn't have to fight crowds after the show. It was such a good idea! We went the baseball game and didn't have to find a place to park when we got to the firework show. We walked over and sat with Ty's family and had an AMAZING view of the show. Then after the show, after Marissa found a missing 3 yr old, we walked back up to the trailer and we played games with them until things seemed to die down and they headed for home. We slept in the trailer and drove home on the morning. We loved it and I'm sure we'll be doing it again next year!
We finally went out and shot the new guns we got in March. It was fun but not my favorite past time. In fact guns give me anxiety especially with the recent shootings at the school. It terrified Crystal, but Jay really seemed to enjoy it. It may need to become something Ty and Jay do together and us girls can go do something else. Haha.
LIVIE AGAIN - Can't get enough of her
WISH DRAGON
We went to see Wish Dragon at the Colonial Theater. It was a free event and the writer of the movie was there (he's from IF) and did a Q&A afterwards. Jay and Ty went up and asked him if he spent a lot of time with Jackie Chan. He said Jackie Chan was actually a really good person and good to work with. It was a fun night.
These pictures seriously don't do it justice. The moon was so bright and red. It was amazing! I wished I had a better camera!
STAKE CARNIVAL
We had a big stake event with all sorts of booths. One guy had his falcon there. One of our ward booths was bouncy houses so we sat near those a lot of the time. The girls are too cool for parents and went off with friends for most of it, so it was just us and Jay!
