JUNE: BASEBALL, SOCCER, SUMMER FUN

 JAY BASEBALL

Jay played Ucon Coach Pitch the month of June. I like watching him play and he enjoyed playing, but it's pretty painful to sit through these games sometimes. They change the rules so much that it can barely be considered a baseball game. I get they need to make adjustments because they are young and let's face it, baseball has a LOT of rules. But when the kids are like, "that's 3 outs why isn't it our turn to bat?" then maybe its a rule they are capable of understanding... I don't know. It was fun, but frustrating for him at the same time. He made a lot of improvements this month! He wants to try it for another year, so he can try team pitching. He was the oldest of the group this year, so that may have been part of the issue. Team pitching will be more of a challenge!

SAND DUNES
We needed sand to put under the swimming pool before we put it up this year (last year the bottom was lumpy from rocks in the ground), so we made a quick trip to the sand dunes in Idaho Falls. After filling the back of the truck the kids played for a bit! They rolled down the hill, made 'sand angels' and buried themselves in sand. Haha. It was a good time. I apparently haven't taken any pictures of the pool but it is set up and ready for summer fun!

CHUKARS BASEBALL

KV (my work) and EICU (Ty's work), both have season tickets for the Chukers games this summer. They have lost every game we've gone to even though they are apparently a really good team this year. I keep wanting to go though. I think I'm going to drive Ty crazy before the end of the summer. I could watch baseball every night all summer long ... I'm not sure he feels that way though. Haha. These are pictures of the first game we went to this season. It happened to be ICCU night and Jay got a picture with the big bear mascot.

YARD WORK

The girls were gone to girls camp, and Jay came out and helped dad rake the grass clippings. Roscoe, as always, was a lot of help as well. After doing this twice this season we went and bought a sweeper. It is AWESOME. I love turning around and watching it at work as I pull it around the yard with the mower. Haha. It saves us a ton of time and backaches!

JAY AND ODIN
Jay had to come with me to work while the girls were gone to girl's camp. He had fun with my coworker's son who also comes to work once or twice a week. My Grandma Vicky had a birthday that week, so I told the boys to show me their best "Happy Birthday" faces. This is what I got to send to her. Haha. I'd say they did a pretty good job.

SOCCER TOURNAMENT

Well I only got videos of Crystal's soccer tournament this weekend, so I don't have any pictures to post, but she scored 2 of the 3 goals during their last game. They didn't do super great overall, but they sure came together during their last game to bring it up to a tie at least! If they had played the entire weekend the way they played the last half of their last game, they probably would have had a chance! At least they ended it feeling like they tried their best. It was a good way to end the season.

After the game, the team and their families were invited to Rexburg Rapids for the evening. Lily had a long day between getting home from girls camp and playing at Flips with cousin Kensie for her birthday. Crystal had played 2 soccer games that day which is completely exhausting. Jay had jump roped his heart out before also going to Flips. They had all had a long exhausting day, but when the opportunity arises to get in the water these 3 kids can't say no!!! All 3 of them had a blast, but it was SO SO SO crowded that Ty and I didn't even attempt to get in the pool. I mean there were people in every inch of the pool. Haha. It was insanely busy. We stayed for an hour until the kids just couldn't have anymore fun. Haha. We had Sonic for dinner and then headed home. I think we all slept well that night.

ARIZONA COUSINS
Ty's cousin Marissa came to visit, and she brought not just her kids, but even more cousins to hang out with us! These kids had a good time playing together. I wish they all could have stayed longer! We always just love the time we get to spend with them when they come every summer! Hopefully we will get to make a trip there this fall to see them!

SUNDAY DINNER

Being these guys is tough work. Couch napping for the win! (I don't know how they sleep with the kids running in and out). Meanwhile, the kids were playing truth or dare and Lily was dared to go ask a neighbor if she could borrow an egg. It took 3 houses but they found someone willing to answer the door and give her an egg. She named it Steven's son and won't let anyone cook and eat it. Haha.

ANGEL

Angel ventured out clear to the grass the other day. She was examining the very tall weeds that had grown where my back patio is going to be someday. I love seeing her do this because she rarely ever leaves the house anymore.

CRYSTAL'S PARTY

Crystal threw a birthday party for a friend this month. She made palm tree ice cubes, cute little blue jellos with a peach ring, gummy bear and umbrella (little bear floating in water on a float tube). It was cute. She also used the chocolate fondue fountain and had a bunch of fruit and snacks to cover in chocolate. I helped her with the fountain, and it led me to curse a few times. It was not cooperating but we managed to make it work.

I didn't seem to get any pictures of them playing, but besides the pool, she had water stations set up around the yard with water balloons and squirt guns. There was a slip n slide and the volleyball net was up. I think they all had a grand time!

SLEEP OVER

We had family pictures and after pictures we had cousins come sleep over for the night. They all had such a good time together!
