ARCHERY RANGE
Ty bought a membership to the archery range in Provo Canyon this year. He's been pretty excited for the weather to warm up so we can actually use it. It was warm enough this week that we decided to drive up there for some target practice.
The archery range is pretty nice. It has a target range, 2 3D courses and a target course. It also has camp sites you can pitch tents in or park trailers and stay the weekend! It has a big fire pitt, a few very nice barbecue grills, a pavilion and picnic tables, swings and a 'sand box' (looks like its an old sand volleyball court) for the kids, and to top it off the view is AMAZING!
Our friend and his son were able to join us! The kids played while we got some target practice in! There were a lot of bugs (box elder bugs... annoying but harmless... hard to convince the kids of that though) around so the kids were a little nervous about playing in the sand or on the toys at first. They got better after awhile. Well everyone but Lily. My little fearless child is PETRIFIED of tiny little bugs... yeah I don't get it either.
Her Sandcastle
I love that he doesn't eat the dirt. He just loves feeling it! Until he finds a rock or stick... then it goes in his mouth. Haha.
He found a stick.
I think his walking stick makes him look like yoda. Haha.
PLAYING DOCTOR
J had a little accident Saturday afternoon. Ty was spinning with J and Lily in his arms. J got a little too excited and flung himself backwards in Ty's arm. Since Ty had Lily in his other arm he couldn't catch him. He flipped out of his arm and after he hit the ground his head fell backwards and hit the corner of the bookcase. There was a lot of blood at first and I called the doctor (who didn't call back until Monday... apparently their phones weren't working right which ended up working out for us and saving us a lot of money). The bleeding had stopped within minutes but there was still a nice deep gash in his head. There was no swelling or bruising. He didn't hit it hard, thank goodness, he just hit it in the right spot on the bookcase to cut his head. We really didn't want to go to the ER and pay an arm and a leg for them to glue it shut and our doctor's office wasn't calling us back. Ty called Tom (a cousin doctor of ours :)) and we decided we could handle gluing it ourselves. Ty went to the dollar store and bought some super glue. I cleaned it out as much as J would let me and pushed the skin together so Ty could put the glue on. It worked quite well. (I should take an 'after its healed' picture. Now after a month there is just a tiny line where the cut was. The part of his head where the super glue was is white because his head tanned and apparently super glue blocks UV rays really well. lol. But other than that it looks great now.)

RANDOM PICTURES OF THE WEEK:
J loves playing in the toy kitchen. He even stirs whatever he's making in the pan. Haha. I love it!
We sure enjoyed the nice weather this week. We even wandered over to the park!
