J's Walking!

I've mentioned that J has taken a few steps here and there. His first steps were on the cruise ship in the beginning of March, but he would only walk when we'd beg him to. And even then he'd fight us and throw a temper tantrum a lot of the time. He has been able to stand himself up from the middle of the room for quite sometime now but has shown little interest in walking. He became such a good crawler so early on that he thought we were crazy to try getting him to walk. Crawling is so much faster! Haha!

After Conference on Saturday we were watching Scooby Doo with the girls and J stood up to dance to the opening music. He then suddenly walked halfway across the room toward the TV before he fell! We all cheered and clapped and he looked at us like we were crazy. He hadn't even realized what he had done. So he looked at us, stood up, and walked some more. We clapped and cheered for him and he decided all this attention was worth it so he continued. One time when we didn't clap and cheer for him he turned to look at us and started clapping and making noise. Haha. He was letting us know we had forgotten something!

I had to go work on our house for a bit and when I came back my mom said he'd been walking all over the place. And I couldn't believe it! She was right! He walked everywhere he went the rest of the night. And then again the next day! He suddenly just decided walking might be worth it! He also loves the freedom it gives his hands. He's ALWAYS trying to walk around with something in his hands ... sometimes whatever it is is bigger than him!
