THE GARDEN
Our garden has produced us a bounty of peas this year! If that's the only thing that makes it, I would call it a success! I have such wonderful memories of picking peas out of the garden and eating them until I was sick! I love that my children can experience it as well. They all love fresh raw peas out of the garden! YAY!
We also have an abundance of roma tomatoes growing for salsa and grape tomatoes for salads. And cucumbers for pickles as well! We get all of our other garden vegetables from Ty's parents massive garden. They have tomatoes, squash, corn, zucchini, pumpkins, peppers, raspberries, strawberries, and so much more! We are very blessed that they are so willing to share it with us!
Yes I know. We go every Tuesday and I'm still taking pictures every time. Haha. But today we ran into some old friends (semi on purpose) who live in Washington and are here to visit for a few weeks! They were going to the zoo with some family on our zoo day and were going to be there at the same time as us so we kinda tagged along. Crystal and Lily were so excited to see their friends McCall and Millie! I didn't tell them beforehand what special friend was going to be at the zoo (just in case we missed them), so it was a great surprise! I wish I'd had my camera out to see them reunite, but I of course wasn't prepared!
The kids had free Chukars tickets from the summer reading program so we went with Aunt Maddie and cousins Millie and Mckenzie to the game! The kids were all rather rambunctious, but all in all we had a good time. They loved Charlie the Chukar and even got his autograph on their team posters! We enjoyed some yummy ice cream in souvenir helmets and by the 4th inning we were ready to go home! lol! Crystal was pretty upset we left before it was over, but we promised her we would go again before the season was out. When we left the Chukars were winning by 3 points and going strong! I never did look to see if they won so I'm going to assume they won and celebrate! ;-)
FUN FRIDAY
For our Fun Friday activity this week we used our 'one free ride at Funland' coupons from the summer reading program. I paid for a few tickets too so they were able to ride 2 rides each. They have a silly rule that says if you are on the carousel with a small child then you have to pay for a ticket too. I didn't think Jay could handle it alone so I bought some tickets for me to get on as well. When it came time for it though the kid running the ride said he would sit next to him so I didn't have to ride. I was totally okay with that and gave Crystal my extra tickets, so technically she rode 3 rides... but who's counting? (Well Lily was, but I told her Crystal was on only to watch Jay and not for fun which apparently satisfied her because she didn't complain at all. lol). Crystal rode the octopus. She was okay until it started going up and down as well as in circles. She wasn't so sure about that, but she still said it was fun in the end. Haha. She also rode the airplane. Lily and Jay both rode the train. Jay talked about it the rest of the day! Even though it is an extremely slow ride, they both absolutely loved it! Then last but certainly not least all three of them rode the carousel!
My parents bought the grandkids a karaoke machine around December last year to put in their Castle Room, but the power cord has been missing for months! We still can't find it, but Grandma dug around and found an old power cord that works perfectly. As a result we got to listen to Let It Go about 5 times along with a few other Frozen favorites. They also sang to a little bit of Taylor Swift. The picture I have doesn't do justice to Uncle Tyler's awesome dance moves. lol.
RANDOM PICTURES
Jay walks into the room with his hand to his ear saying, "Hi Grandma..." followed by gibberish I was in capable of understand. "Okay, bye Grandma"
Ty parked the trailer on the side of the road and the very next day IFPD puts a radar speed sign directly across the street from it. Haha. I was worried about how narrow we had made the road before the radar speed sign was there. I guess they weren't concerned though. And I can't complain because its slowing people down in front of our house so let them keep it there as long as they'd like!
Crystal's pictures she drew for Daddy for Father's Day.
One of Lily's recent pictures. I can't remember if this one was for Ty or not. But her drawings are becoming more and more detailed so I wanted to save this one. ;-)
Crystal said, "Mom I'm going to go put these on my bed so Jesus and Heavenly Father can find them." I thought it was awfully sweet of her.
