BABY CHICKS
Well I've been thinking a lot lately about how nice it would be to have fresh eggs.... we eat a lot of eggs in this house. haha. But we already have 2 animals, and I wasn't sure I could handle any more animals to take care of. After doing some research and asking a lot of questions, we decided to take the plunge! We made the mistake of looking at the chicks one Saturday while we were examining coops in the store for ideas on how to get our doghouse coop to work they way we wanted it to. There were three Rhode Island Reds left, and we ended up taking all three of them home (I only wanted 2. haha). Now it has been nearly a month and due to inclement weather EVERY Saturday since the work on the coop is slow going! It still needs doors, ventilation, nesting box, and a place for food and water. We also still need to build a gate and somewhat of a run for them. Oy! Hopefully we get it done soon because they are almost ready to go outside (and as cute as they are, I'm ready for them to be there! lol)
My preschool kids love the baby chicks!
She escaped! Jesse is a jumper!
