ST GEORGE

The day after Independence Day we headed to St George with the entire Gordon crew! While we were eating dinner that night my nephew may or may not have taken his shoe off and thrown it towards his mom and it may or may not have landed in her food. HAHA. Whoops! We found a random rock fountain in the middle of one of the gas stations we stopped at. Thought it was picture worthy!

We rented a house in a fun neighborhood in St George that has several pools in it, including one with slides and a lazy river. But surprisingly the kids loved the regular pool with the rock landscape the best! Cousins had a good weekend playing together and swimming every day!

Grandma and Grandpa Gordon took us to see Little Mermaid at Tuacahn Theater. Lily thought she was in heaven and to top it off she got to meet the cast and they all signed the kids shirts (we hadn't come prepared with paper). It was a good show! We love The Tuacahn! We went back the next day and got pictures in front of the sign. Ty spent a good amount of time figuring out how to take the picture without a tripod. Grandpa and Jason kept the boys in line while waiting!

This trip was the beginning of a long vacation for our family. After St George we were heading to Durango to meet Ty's family. Because of that we brought our bikes with us. at some point during the trip the pedal on my bike bent in which made it completely unusable and Crystal's breaks went out on hers. Lily's bike was already on it's last leg so while we were out replacing those 2 bikes we got one for her as well (we did go to a repair place and tried to get them fixed but he said it would be cheaper to just buy new ones... some of the problems weren't really fixable). So we ended up with 3 new bikes after day 1.

Unfortunately Lily's new bike had a tire problem so we returned it. They didn't have any more of that style so she was back to using her old bike until we could find a new one. Then 2 days later, while out playing on sand dunes with the razors nd bikes, she hit a rock going downhill and her bike literally broke in half. The bottom half stayed with the rock it hit and the handle bars kept going with her. She had some pretty scary looking scrapes and bruises but she's a tough girl!

Aunt Maddie had a birthday while we were in St George. They ended up leaving early cuz Uncle Tyler had school, but we didn't want to miss singing to her and having cake!!!

We had great weekend with the family! Tuesday morning it was time to part ways! The rest of the clan headed home and -after packing everything in the truck we parked next to the pool and played for a while. We weren't due in Durango for several more days, but thankfully Ty's grandparents let us stay in their winter home while we were there! So after swimming as much as possible we headed there.

At church that past Sunday, we heard during announcements that the church owned an apricot orchard near by and they were trying to get rid of the rest of the fruit that week. Ty contacted the bishop and asked him if he thought we could go even though we didn't live in the area. He said he didn't think they would mind since it was the last week to pick and they wanted as much of it used as possible. So Wednesday morning we drove to the orchard and filled as many boxes and bags we could find in our car. We all had pretty good time!

On the way back to the house we stopped and bought a bunch of canning supplies! We spent the rest of the afternoon canning apricot jam! The kids didn't think this part was quite as much fun so Ty and I did most of it, but we had ourselves a ton of jam when we were done!!!!

My mom was still out of commission from chemo during this vacation so I had to take a break and get some work done the next day. We found out when we got to the house that it didn't have any internet so I had to spend half the day at the public library to I could work remotely and get some billing done. While I was working, Ty took the kids to the children's museum next door. It was small but they really enjoyed it. In between the library and museum was a fun splash park. Summer in St George is very very hot so after the museum the kids enjoyed playing in the water. When I finished my work, I went out and joined them for a bit before we left.
