Grand Canyon and the Mega Wedding

Just a couple of weeks after I found out I was pregnant, we made the loooong trek to Mesa, Arizona for Ty's brother Todd's wedding. My morning sickness had hit pretty hard by then, but thanks to Zofran I managed the car ride pretty well.

Since we were driving right by the Grand Canyon, we decided to make a small detour and drive along the South Rim to check out the view and get a few pictures. I was pretty anxious about having my little girls so close to a VERY large drop off, but it wasn't as bad as I was expecting. All the places we stopped at had good sturdy rails and Ty kept a good hold on Lily most of the time we were there.
I dressed the girls for the 110 degree weather in most of Arizona, but it was only 60 degrees at the Grand Canyon! We weren't freezing, but it really wasn't tank top and shorts weather! lol.

Yes, Lily made me VERY nervous! That child has NO fears!

They each got a stuffed animal souvenir. Crystal has her squirrel in this picture. Lily got a lizard.

We finally made it to Mesa after midnight. Todd and Brooke's wedding was the next day. We had a wonderful time - even though it was EXTREMELY HOT. Pregnancy and heat are NOT a good combination. lol. There was a point where I was sure the girls had heat stroke, but we all survived the heat and came out of it unscathed! :-) The wedding reception was amazing. Four of Brooke's siblings were married that day too so the reception was for all 5 couples! It was dubbed 'The Mega Wedding.'  We had a ton of fun visiting with family, eating great food, and dancing (the girls especially LOVED the dancing)!
These are actually pictures from the open house in Idaho Falls. I couldn't find our pictures from the wedding day... oops. BUT heres the newlyweds! Todd and Brooke!!!!

Lily chowing down on refreshments!

Elli (Crystal and Lily's cousin) and the girls getting a drink. (I made the girls dresses for the wedding while my morning sickness was in full swing. I was just glad they turned out half decent. lol)

On the way home from Mesa, we decided to go through Las Vegas so we could stop in St. George at Ty's Grandparents' condo to break the trip up a little bit. On the way we drove passed the Hoover Dam so we stopped to check it out. Did I mention earlier that HOT and MORNING SICKNESS don't mesh well? Well it was 106 degrees and we had to make a short hike to the lookout point. I'm glad we were able to have the experience. It was neat to see, but it would have been more enjoyable had it been 20 degrees cooler!
Hoover Dam ... Do we look like we are a little warm? hehe.

On our way home!

Passing Las Vegas!
