Halloween 2012

We had a fun Halloween this year! Crystal was SO EXCITED for trick or treating this year that she started asking me EVERY DAY from the beginning of the month if it was Halloween yet so she could get in her Dorothy costume (and her red sparkly shoes) and go trick or treating. I loved how excited she was!

PUMPKIN LAND
I thought it would be fun for the girls to go to a pumpkin patch this year. Usually we get our pumpkins from Ty's grandpa in Spanish Fork, but he sold his farm so we thought we were going to have to buy pumpkins from the store this year. A pumpkin patch sounded like more fun than just getting them at Walmart. So I did a little research and I found a place in Orem called Pumpkin Land.  It had a small corn maze, goats and chickens, toys and tunnels for the kids, inflatable toys, a playground, and a 'light' alley (as opposed to a spook alley ... much more small child friendly). The girls had a blast! We only got slightly lost in the corn maze before we finally found our way out. Though the price to get into Pumpkin Land was great, their pumpkin prices were horrible, so we decided to wait and get pumpkins elsewhere.

Huge Pumpkin!

This was the most AMAZING cat. I've never seen a cat NOT run away from Lily. I mean look at her, if I were a cat I'd run too!!! lol. But not this cat. No, this cat actually hung around after we made Lily put it down as if it wanted picked up again! lol.

PLAYGROUND TOYS

This was a huge slide! I though Crystal would be too afraid because the tunnel slide was very dark, but she loved it!

Two days later Grandma Cook called and invited us to a Halloween FHE dinner where we would be able to choose from a load of pumpkins that Grandpa had gotten from the farm! Crystal loved picking out her own pumpkin!

CARVING
The weekend before Halloween we finally sat down and gutted and carved the 4 pumpkins! We decided next year we'll just be carving pumpkins for the kids... 5 pumpkins is just too much since Ty has to do most of the carving himself!

HALLOWEEN
On Halloween we went to the trunk or treat at the church near our house. It was SO warm outside the girls didn't even need jackets! I don't think I've ever experienced such warm weather while trick or treating before! Crystal was extremely shy but she still had fun. Lily on the other hand got the hang of things quickly! Ty was able to stop by long enough to come with us. The nice thing about the trunk or treat is that it doesn't take much time!

 Our butterfly and Dorothy
(She HAD to have red sparkly shoes ... they cost more than the costume. lol. Good thing she still wears them to church almost every Sunday. lol)
