Swimming Lessons and Seven Peaks Summer 2012

Swimming is one of our favorite things to do in the summertime.  We get great deals on season passes to 7 peaks, so we spend a lot of time there while its open! Ty's afternoon work schedule (though it has its downsides) is perfect over the summer because he can come along with us! Its just wonderful!

This year was Crystal's first year of swimming lessons. She's always been pretty timid in the water even though she absolutely loves spending summers at 7 Peaks. She DOESN'T like putting her face in the water. We decided to put her in the first summer class so she would have the entire summer to master the skills she learned there. The class lasted 2 weeks and it took the ENTIRE two weeks for the teacher to convince her to put her face under on her own. After her class we'd usually go to 7 peaks for a few hours, so we would practice with her there. FINALLY on the last day she bobbed her head under the water a few times. Just enough to pass the class. hehe.

 Blowing bubbles. Forward float.

 Practicing our kicks!

She's trying to convince her to put her WHOLE face in. Crystal puts in just enough to blow bubbles. We even got her goggles thinking it would help her put her face in, but it didn't work.

 Back Float

Rocket Ship!

On the last day of class they got to go down the slide!

Crystal (on the left) LOVED it!

Seven Peaks!
This was Crystal's favorite slide. It was a 'fast' slide that she could go down herself.

Just getting off the slide. She'd end up under water every time she hit the bottom of the slide, but she didn't mind.

Playing in the splash pool!

Lily LOVED the splash pool!

She liked to hang out in the shallow part of the splash pool and float around.

Daddy liked it too.
